PCOD 3. tremor 4. ataxia this question was asked in NIMHANS 2006 what KDT writes valproate causes fulminant hepatitis in children so LFT should be monitored regularly valproate is associated with PCOD in young females ataxia and tremor are dose related side effects. AAA gives the answer as PCOD but im still in a dilemma |
Total Posts: 7 | Posted: Thu Oct 30, 2008 12:13 am Hepatotoxicity is usually limited to children 2yrs of age or lower. The use of valproate with hepatic enzyme–inducing drugs increases the risk of liver toxicity. Menstrual irregularities and polycystic ovarian syndrome may appear in young women taking the drug, perhaps as a consequence of the aforementioned weight gain. Therefore the probable ans. wld be A.
