Rheumatoid factor belongs to Ig M ( antibody against Fc fragment of Ig G )

Ig G1 and Ig M fix complements via classical pathway.


Ig A,Ig D,Ig G4 fix complements via alternate pathway.

as far as i know opsonisation is a function of IgG.

REF ANANTNARAYAN CH- Ab n ig s..pg 84 clearly states ig M 500 - 1000 TIMES MORE effective in opsonisation than ig G

its just that i have this thought lingering still that opsonization is with IgG. I know AN specifies as you pointed out.

does any1 have anything to add on?

AIIMS ashish gupta dec94 has the question that u mentioned inmy book as

IgG is maximum in

a stomach
b visceral peritonium
c small intestine
d large intestine

and he doesnt give the answer. are we reading different books? what is the ruth regarding the answer of this q?\

is it parietal as you said?
