55 y.o male h/o HTN and DM (70kg) comes to the ER with a headache, chest pain and irritability. Vitals are checked and his BP is 225/125. Knowing that he is in a hypertensive crisis you start a nitroglycerin infusion to reduce his blood pressure within normal limits.

If the nitroglycerin concentration is 100 mcg/ml and is began at 0.5 mcg/kg/min, how many ml/hr of nitroglycerin is the patient going to recieve:

a.11 ml/hr
b.21 ml/hr
c.31 ml/hr
d.41 ml/hr
r.51 ml/hr

Some 1 pls help with solving this.....Where's jemzcal and verasian.....Also since lazyguy is going to join AIIMS,,,,I suggest he too give us tips... Very Happy

dose requirement - .5 mcg/kg/min

therefoe its 35 mcg/min

so 35*60 = 2100 mcg/hr.

solution is 100 mcg/ml therefore answer is 21 ml/min
