A 30 year old man has 6/5 vision each eye, unaided. His cycloplegic retinoscopy is +1.0 D sph. at 1 metre distance. His complaints are blurring of newsprint at 30 cm, that clears up in about two minutes. The most probable diagnosis is ?

A) Hypermetropia
B) Presbyopia
C) Accomodative inertia
D) Cycloplegia

Please can some1 explain Y the remaining options cant fit into the diagnosis and importantly Y this answer is correct..

I just guessed it so its a risky move I guess...Surprised

Please help asap.. Confused

Cycloplegia hypermetropia or presbyopia do not “clear up in two minutes.”
Accommodative inertia typically occurs when the accommodative system is capable of but slow in making a change. In other words there is a considerable lag between the stimulus and response (starting trouble).

Accommodative inertia, also called as accommodative infacility, can be defined as slow or difficult accommodative response to dioptric change—Unstimulus.

All of the following conditions are contraindicated or likely to worsen in a case of primary open angle glaucoma, when treated with Timolol maleate 0.5% eye drops, except ?

A) Hypertension
B) Hypercholesterolemia
C) Depression
D) Bronchial asthma

nothing much in this. timolol being a b blocker causes hypotension. Wink

An 18 year old boy comes to the eye casualty with history of injury with a tennis ball. On examination there is no perforation but there is hyphaema. The most likely source of the blood is ?

A) Iris vessels
B) Circulus iridis major

A) Keratoconjunctivits sicca
B) Lacrimal gland removal
C) Canalicular block
D) Herpetic keratitis

How can this be the answer....Please tell abt the tear film....Urging experts like verasian and kolsurgeon to guide me.. Sad

Keratoconjuctivitis Sicca is primarly a deficiency of aqueous layer....Mucin is secreted by goblet cells which r destroyed by herpetic keratitis
