Angelina Total Posts: 130 | Posted: Wed Jul 11, 2007 08:37 am hi, pretest is a question and answer bank based on robbin's. pretest is available for many subjects besides pathology. genetics is very important, but read it from harrison's. basically, i would suggest you to read everyhting from harrison, then add more if you get time, from textbooks of relevant subjects. bye. |
nanu Total Posts: 228 | Posted: Wed Jul 11, 2007 11:00 pm ya Angelina is right but for genetics read first from robbins then u will better understand from harrison. other pretests are harrisons and schwartz both of which are must read. |

Angelina Total Posts: 130 | Posted: Thu Jul 12, 2007 03:14 pm for infection first read from Park's PSM Book as it has indian data + epidemiology, then go to harrison's and if still something is unclear then go to robbins. Note: you must know what not to read in Harrison's and for that you need to practice lots of mcqs simultaneously. |

Angelina Total Posts: 130 | Posted: Sun Jul 15, 2007 04:48 pm hi, about the first 700 - it used to be true for the old harison's textbooks. With new version, the chapters have been moved. As far as the head ache is concerned, it depends, on how dedicated you are. THE EARLIER YOU ACCEPT THE FACT THAT HARRISON WILL EASY THE THINGS 4 U, the earlier are your chances to get in pg. How to read harrison ? 1. Sit with a mcqs bank. 2. Read a Question. 3. Refer to relevant chapter of harrison. 4. Underline the related mcqs line in Harrison book itselt with a permanent marker 5. Keep doing this half of day 6. Keep reading these paragraphs, the rest of the day. AT THE END U will DO IT. |
sellu Total Posts: 12 | Posted: Mon Jul 16, 2007 05:25 am thanx angelina for your replay. surely i will try your advice. please give some tips about how to read anatomy again thanx |
Angelina Total Posts: 130 | Posted: Tue Jul 17, 2007 01:46 am Anatomy - Do not study anatomy alone. Start it will subjects dependent on it. E.g. (Anatomy + Surgery + Ortho + Eye + Ent) Together, so that you do not have to re-exert. - First you must know all the branches of veins, arteries, nerves, nerve supply of muscles, actions of muscles BY HEART (so that you can recall it even if you are waked up in the middle of night). Any simple MCQS should not be missed - Next Start system wise and read with allied subjects. |
