While reading one mcq, I came accross the term PPAP-A in Down's syndrome. Later I found out that it is pregnancy associated plasma protein A and is used for screening of Down's syndrome. Can any of you please give more details about this?

It is PAPPA an metallopeptidase.it cleaves insulin-like growth factor binding proteins..

its low level is associated with high risk of IUGR,Trisomy21,preeclampsia, etc..

its high level is associated with acute coronary syndrome, atherosclerosis....
