Seventy-one PG degree and Diploma seats are available in the following disciplines : M.D. in General Medicine(  , Obstetrics & Gynaecology(, Pathology(2), Microbiology(2), Physiology(2), Pharmacology(2), Paediatrics(5), Radiodiagnosis(2), Anaesthesiology(6), Dermatology(Venerology and Leprosy)(3), Biochemistry(2), Community Medicine(2), Psychiatry(1), TB and Respiratory Diseases(1)
M.S. in General Surgery( , Orthopaedics(2), Ophthalmology(3), E.N.T.(2), Anatomy(2)

JIPMER conducts Entrance Examination on All India Basis. Merit in the Entrance Examination will be taken into account in filling up the seats in an Open Counseling method. Back to Top 3. Who are eligible for admission? All the candidates who have passed MBBS Degree in any University recognised by the Medical Council of India and Pondicherry University are eligible to appear for the Entrance Examination. Further the candidate should be an Indian National and should have completed the Internship on or before 31st March of the year of admission. Back to Top 4. When is the next Entrance Examination? The JIPMER PG Entrance examination is usually conducted on the third Sunday of March every year. Back to Top 5. How do we reach Pondicherry? Pondicherry is situated adjacent to Tamil Nadu. Roadway is the shortest route to reach Pondicherry from Chennai. Number of buses both Government/Private buses are plying from Chennai to Pondicherry (160 km) and you can reach Pondicherry within three/four hours. Back to Top 6. What is the pattern of Entrance Examination? The Examination consists of 250 multiple choice questions (one best response type) of which 100 questions will be from Para-Clinical and the remaining 150 questions from Clinical Subjects. The evaluation is fully computerized and there is no negative marking. Back to Top 7. When will the application forms for the next Entrance Examination be available? We shall be releasing the advertisement calling applications in the first week of December in all leading News Papers. Soon after, the application form and prospectus will be available on payment from JIPMER.
